Buses to and from Sacramento International Airport (SMF)

Buses are one of the important transport services in Sacramento. They also serve as feeders for Light Rail Transit passengers.

Buses run daily every 15 to 75 minutes, depending on the location, and they start around 5:00 AM and until 11:00 PM.

Two buses operate at Sacramento International Airport; The Sacramento Regional Transit District and the Yolobus.

They are all available at the ground transportation center.

Sacramento Regional Transit District or commonly known by locals as SacRT is an agency responsible for public transportation in the Sacramento Metropolitan Area. They operate over 81 bus routes with connecting bus services in the area.

SacRT’s Route 142 runs an express bus transport service from Sacramento International Airport to the downtown area. The airport express bus runs every 20 to 30 minutes daily together with Yolobus Route 42A and Route 42B.

SacRT’s single and daily bus fare starts at $2.50 for ages 19 to 61 with a daily pass fare of $7.00, while Senior Citizens ages 62 and above, Persons with Disabilities, and K-12 students pay $1.25 for a single fare and $3.50 for a daily pass.

Yolobus by Yolo County Transport District also offers daily bus services throughout the region. Their routes include transportation from Sacramento to Davis, Woodland, and other areas.

Yolobus’ rates are also affordable and budget-friendly. Single Ride Tickets of local fare for regular passengers ages 19 to 61 is $2.00, while Senior Citizens and Disabled individuals will pay a discounted fare of $1.00. Intercity fare for regular passengers is $2.25 and $1.00 for Seniors and disabled persons. Express fare for regular passengers is $3.25 and $1.50 for Seniors and PWDs.
