Getting to and from Portland International Airport (PDX)

The Red Line transports passengers from the airport to downtown in roughly forty minutes.

At the south end of the ticketing, the lobby is the TriMet MAX Light Rail station, which provides access to downtown Portland.

Rideshares at Portland International Airport

Follow the directions to the baggage claim located on the lower level. Your pickup will occur on the side of island 2, closest to the terminal.

Taxis at Portland International Airport

Before tip, the typical cab rate from the airport to downtown is roughly $35. The trip takes 20 to 40 minutes one-way.

Trains at Portland International Airport.

The Portland Airport is 14 kilometers northeast of downtown Portland. The MAX light-rail system connects it to the city center conveniently.

  • The travel from Portland International Airport to downtown takes approximately 40 minutes.
  • Adult tickets are $2.50, while youth and honorary tickets are $1.25.
  • At 4:45 a.m., the first train of the day arrives at PDX. The final train from PDX departs at 11:50 p.m.

MAX Rapid Transit and TriMet Bus

  • The MAX Light Rail station for TriMet is located outside the terminal's southern end, near concourses A and B.
  • The Red Line provides transfer options to the Green and Blue lines at the following stops and the Yellow line at Pioneer Square.
  • Numerous city buses provide connections to the MAX Light Rail, Portland Streetcar, and aerial trams.

Hotel Shuttles at Portland International Airport

Numerous airport hotels provide this service at no cost. At PDX, shuttles are on the bottom roadway, outside the baggage claim area.

When you exit the airport, you will find the shuttles at the terminal's bottom door (outside of the baggage claim area) on the opposite side of the second strip ("Island 2") near the parking garage.
