Taxis at Portland International Airport

Before tip, the typical cab rate from the airport to downtown is roughly $35. The trip takes 20 to 40 minutes one-way.

Taxis are available outside baggage claim in the central area of the airport terminal's lower roadway.

To return to the airport from the city center, call one of the city's leading operators or a hotel with a dedicated taxi stand.

Where can I get a wheelchair taxi?

Taxis and other transportation network companies (TNCs) like Uber and Lyft offer airport service in wheelchair-accessible vehicles.

Ground transportation providers will drop off passengers at the departure level or the most convenient place for the passenger. For wheelchair taxi service, call PDX WAV at 503-865-4WAV (503) 865-4928 seven days a week, or use the TNC app on your mobile device.

For additional information about the PDX WAV program, please contact the Portland Bureau of Transportation by email at PDXWAV@PortlandOregon.gov or by phone at 503-823-7483.

To reach the Ground Transportation Office at the Port, you may also dial 503-415-6686 or send an email to april.murchinson@portofportland.com.

Taxis depart from the baggage claim level (lower) level outer highway, which is handicapped accessible. Wheelchair-bound or mobility-challenged passengers can also request to be dropped off on the upper level's inner roadway (Departures/Ticketing).

Please inform your ground transportation operator of your mobility needs so they can meet you or transport you to one of these locations.

Although drivers are not required to stop at the holding lot or business roadway booth to acquire a ticket before letting you off on the inner roadway, they must place the ticket on their windshield.

This ticket clearly indicates to all port personnel that the vehicle has a passenger who must be dropped off or picked up at an alternate location, which may speed up the process.
