Departures at Los Angeles Airport have nine terminals to choose from, but all departures happen from the Upper Levels in each terminal, while baggage reclaim is located on the lower levels. If travelling to the airport by FlyAway bus from locations in Los Angeles, passengers will be dropped off at the correct spot for their required departure terminal. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority Bus Centre is located by parking lot C, northeast of the airport’s outer perimeter and passengers travelling to Los Angeles Airport by bus can board the free shuttle service here, which will take them to the terminal buildings.

Passengers for international flights should be at the airport at least 2 hours prior to their flight, while Los Angeles Airport departures for domestic flights should be at the check-in at least one hour and a half prior to their flight.

There are several parking lots close to the terminal buildings, but mainly in front of the central terminal, where some 8,000 parking spaces are available. Long-term parking in different areas is also available and a free shuttle service takes passengers from these areas to their terminal. Valet parking is offered just outside terminal 4. The shuttle service is also equipped to take wheelchair users and Los Angeles Airport departures, who have parked their cars, can enjoy a free ride on this shuttle service to the various terminal buildings. There are numerous car rental companies that serve Los Angeles Airport and have their car rental stations in the economy car parking lot by the central terminal building that connects all nine passenger terminals. Some of the car rental companies offer shuttle services from their offices to the terminals a passenger requires and throughout the terminal buildings there are designated free telephones that connect directly to car rental companies’ offices. The airport’s own free shuttle service also drops passengers off at parking lot C, where the offices of car rental companies are located. Passengers departing from Los Angeles Airport and travelling to the airport by hire car should ensure they know, where to drop off their car at the end of their rental period.

The airport has four parallel runways overlooked by an air traffic control tower that rises 277 feet up into the air. Passengers departing from Los Angeles Airport have a large choice of hotels in proximity to the airport, which make very early morning flights more bearable with comfortable overnight accommodation. The terminal buildings have a wide selection of snack bars, restaurants, bakeries, gift stalls and shops, where departures at Los Angeles Airport can while away the time prior to their flight.
