Information about renting a vehicle from Dollar at Denver International Airport
Denver International Airport is a large American airport serving the city of Denver in the state of Colorado. The airport is located approximately 25 miles from downtown Denver, and to the east side of the city. It is recognised by its official IATA code, DEN, and can also be referred to as DIA. 52 million passengers use the airport every year, and some of these passengers are tourists, in need of some sort of transport from the airport. Hire cars are available from the Denver International Airport car hire companies, such as Dollar, and public buses are also available. Dollar’s vehicles are reliable, and can be hired with low car rental rates.
The airport of Denver International consists of one large terminal with two sides (east and west) and three concourses, referred to as A, B and C. The airport’s main facilities are located in the terminal, and include many shops and restaurants, banking services, information services, the check-in counters and the baggage reclaim facilities. The terminal is linked to Concourse A by a long passenger bridge, and to the further Concourses B and C by an airport train that runs in underground tunnels. Passengers arriving on International flights will enter Concourse A, while those on domestic flights will arrive at one of the other two concourses. The baggage reclaim areas are found on Level 5 of the terminal, and this is also the level where the Denver International Airport car rental companies have their rental counters. Dollar is present, as well as Hertz, Avis, Budget, Thrifty, National and Enterprise.
Passengers may also need to travel to the offices of the car rental companies that are located at some distance from the terminal, but still on airport property. Dollar has car rental shuttles that provide their customers with transport, and these shuttles are available outside doors 505-513 on the east side of the airport and outside doors 504-512 on the west side (Level 5, Island 4). The shuttles are free of charge, available every few minutes and are accessible to disabled passengers. They will also take just a few minutes to reach the car rental companies. Dollar at Denver International Airport is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Dollar has several services available to their customers arriving at Denver International Airport. There are corporate rental accounts for customers travelling for business purposes, the Dollar Multi-Month Rental program and the Dollar Express program. Vehicles can be hired for up to eleven months by corporate clients, at excellent rental rates. The charges for longer-term rentals are taken each month from the customer’s credit card or Dollar billing account, and there is no need to return the vehicle before the rental contract has expired. Reservations are made easy as well with a convenient and dedicated 800#. Many other benefits are available for corporate clients as well.
Occasional and frequent renters may join the Dollar Express program, and enjoy simpler reservations, rentals and returns. Express members are treated to priority counter service at all Dollar rental locations, and may even earn free rental days with the Dollar Renter Rewards program. For every sixteen days of car hire, customers will receive a day of car rental free of charge. The Dollar Express membership is free of charge, and is not a contract of any form. Dollar also has child seats and satellite navigation systems for hire, and hand controls for disabled drivers. From Denver International Airport, hand controls are free of charge (other items will cost a few extra dollars), but will require an advanced reservation. Reserve Dollar hand controls at least two days before the agreed time of vehicle collection.
Dollar’s cars are similar to the Chevrolet Aveo, Ford Focus and Dodge Avenger in the Economy, Compact and Midsize vehicle categories, and the Ford Fusion and Ford Taurus in the Midsize categories. These are all cars which are easy to drive with automatic transmissions, and ideal for city driving or for driving to further destinations. The smaller cars will come with the cheapest rental rates as well. An interesting option is the Dollar Lock Low and Go category, whereby a Compact or larger car can be hired at extraordinarily low car rental rates. Dollar will choose the vehicle on your behalf when you arrive at the rental counters, and it could be a Ford Focus or even a Minivan or SUV. However, regardless of the vehicle, you will pay very low rental rates. Minivans from Dollar are similar to the Dodge Grand Caravan, and SUVs available may include the Ford Escape, Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, Chevrolet Tahoe and the Chevrolet Suburban. Many of these cars are able to accommodate up to seven passengers.
Dollar Denver International Airport will allow their vehicles to be arranged as one way hires. Dollar one way hires allow the customer to return the vehicle to a different rental location, and then need not drive back to Denver Airport. One way hire services may be more expensive, but their price may also depend on the return location chosen for the vehicle. Customers of Dollar should be 21 years of age or older, be in possession of a valid drivers license, and should be the holder of a major credit card. Dollar will be happy to provide further information regarding their car hire services.
